Dear volunteers,
we have two vital events that we need your help with:
Traffic Survey on Skipton Rd, 5pm-5.30pm, Thursday 12th October
Following the first training session we now have 13 volunteers to count and record the traffic. We need at least 24 people. Can you help us with this?
For those unable to make the first training there is another opportunity on Tuesday 3rd Oct at 12B Regent St at 7pm. If you can’t make this either, but are able to help with the actual survey please let me know and we’ll arrange to get you ready for the survey.
Nidderdale Greenway Survey Weekend, 8am-6pm, Saturday and Sunday 14th & 15th October
We are holding this weekend-long event to raise more awareness of the road threat and to gather some valuable information about the numbers of people using Nidd Gorge and the Greenway for recreational purposes.
We need as many volunteers as possible to talk to Greenway users about the threat, carry out short surveys and count numbers as they enter the area. Don’t worry if you aren’t up to speed with the road issues as we can fill you in on this.
We will need quite a few people for this. The bigger the presence, the greater the visibility and impact.
We are putting together a shift rota for the weekend, so if you can give us an hour or two of your time that would help us out enormously.
If you would like to get involved, please let me know what times you are available.
All the indicators suggest we have a real fight on our hands to put a stop to this road. We need as much help as possible!
Thanks
Chris Kitson

Please let me know when the online petition form is up and running again! Send me the link and I’ll get sharing on my Enjoy Harrogate social media channels.
I’d be devastated if the track at the bottom of Bilton Lane was turned into a road!
Really hoping a park and ride option is looked into seriously to reduce traffic congestion in Harrogate.

Thanks Jessica. If you can get your followers to read our latest post and contact the people in positions of influence who can help to stop the road, we can build up the opposition needed to get this idea thrown out – so we can all continue to enjoy this area of Harrogate.
